Phnom Penh

Easter Sunday, off to Cambodia on yet ANOTHER bus trip at 6:30am (so we thought, but then were told there was no bus until 8am).
It was overbooked with locals sitting on plastic chairs up the aisles... but it was great fun AND we got to meet Penny, our new friend from Aus!
Along with our Easter chocolate feast, we even had REAL CHEESE and orange juice!

We met a cool Aussie chick, Penny, on the bus into Cambodia and convinced her to stay with us for a bit...

We stayed at Number 9 Guesthouse, on the lake, and were so stoked to see lots of hammocks out on the deck calling our names!

We did a day trip to the Killing Fields where millions of Cambodians were tortured and killed in horrendous ways, between 1975-79. The local hostel dude took us in his tuk tuk and on the way we got sprayed with water and powder by kids celebrating the New Year!

This tower was built as a memorial to all those killed, and has 17 floors filled with skulls, lots of which have serious fractures or holes in them.

Next it was off to S21, the school that was converted into a prison to torture and interrogate "spies" and normal everyday innocent Cambodians.

Jaded walk back to our guesthouse.
Only in Asia!!!

Avo and cheese = heaven!
Our super sophisticated room.

Yip, we bumped into Ally and Meerko at S21, so they came over to our place for some sundowners, and we hopped on a tuk tuk to go and see what the Heart of Darkness was really about. Turns out it was more like a brothel, but it had beer, and stage from which to fall off.. so it was all good!

Me hanging with the locals again...
