A tribute to Congo "The Happy"

Congo passed away tragically this week in a totally unpreventable car accident, right after his morning walk with his dad in the park. Thankfully it was instant although far too early at the unfairly tender age of only 4.

Chris and I buried him on Table Mountain in Deer Park under a mighty Stone pine tree near the river that he could never resist diving into.

Congo brought so many smiles to so many people he met. He really was a happy dog! We'll keep his memory alive and we'll take him wherever we go...

Scroll further down for pictures from his last weekend, spent in Frasnchhoek on Paradise Farm with the horses and cows. For Congo it truly was Paradise - I've never seen a happier dog!

Meet George!!!!! The new funbus on the block!

"This VW Caravelle Camper was built in 1984 by CI Caravans. For the last few years it has been seldom used by it's elderly owner. It has visited Mozambique and Namibia, and has always been a very reliable vehicle.

The 1.9L water cooled motor runs beautifully, the van has good tires and is in good condition all round.
It has a few rust bubbles under the windscreen, not surprising for a vehicle of this age, but is still in exceptional condition.

The camper has a raised roof with SOLID sides that have windows in them, making the interior nice and bright. It has a double bed and a smaller overhead bed that sleeps 2 children, or perhaps even two adults of moderate size. It has a full set of curtains.

It is equipped with fridge, stove with grill, sink, water-tank, tow-bar, roof-rack, radio-tape."
