Debs arrives in Aus

G'day mate!

Hope everyone is well, especially after the horrific incidents in London. My sister says I have one special guardian angel looking out for me, since I flew out 10 hours before it all happened!
The 24 hours of travel went by incredibly quickly and I arrived in Brisbane bright and early on Friday morning. It was so great to see my family, and so the last few days have been spent adjusting to Aussie life (took about 3 minutes as it's so similar to SA!) and chilling at home with the family and Lenny (the staffie).

Check out my new "home" for the next few months: Click here to see Anna and Todd's place in Brisbane.

We had a house-warming / welcoming party on Saturday night and for once I was extremely well-behaved and didn't try drink everyone under the table! I even managed to fall asleep during the SA/Aus rugby but I didn't mind as I didn't miss much!

Today we explored the city and took the ferry all the way up and down the river - stunning properties along the banks, and the CBD is just mind-blowing with all the brand new skyscrapers peeping over the river.

Tomorrow we're off to Binna Burra lodge which is in a rain forest SW of the Gold Coast. On our way back on Wed we'll pop into the Gold Coast where I hope to make my first aquaintance with the Pacific Ocean! I'm also gonna try and pop into the polo farm where I'm supposed to be working from Aug to Nov, just to check it out and find out more, so will keep you posted on that one.

There's no broadband at the house (WHAT??? How am I gonna survive?!) so I'll try update this every week or so - feel free to pop back anytime! I also managed to get my 5-day old Canon camera stolen out of my handbag on my arm on my last Sunday night in London... so photos could be pretty scarce for a while too!

Please keep in touch and send me all your news!
