With over 10 000 visitors in 2006, the Wacky Wine Weekend has been firmly established as one of South Africa's leading wine tourism events. Taking place for the 4th time, the Robertson Wine Valley is proud to present the 2007 Wacky Wine Weekend (1 - 3 June). This fun-filled weekend spans the valley and includes 40 wineries from Ashton, Bonnievale, McGregor and Robertson with a special focus on good food, great wine and an even better time spend with friends and family.

Wineries all across this picturesque valley host extra activities in addition to wine tasting which includes boat cruises, tractor trips, paragliding, golfing, the sound of live music, loads of childrens' activities and food ranging from traditional SA meals to gourmet delicacies.

Your passport (R30), a stylish tasting glass, must be purchased at your first port of call and serves as registration to the weekend. Whether you are a wine connoisseur, foodie or just someone looking to have a good time, the Wacky Wine Weekend is not to be missed. Make this your winter weekend away!

Naturally, accommodation for this weekend is in demand and fortunately we have secured 30 beds at Hessequas Farm near Bonnievale.

There are about 6 mud huts (no electricity in the huts) plus extra space for camping if extremely necessary. There are outside showers and toilets (shower heated by "donkey" fire) and a communal lapa area with everything you need from stoves to fridges to plates to wine glasses...

The farm is situated on the Zonderend river so there are canoes to paddle out with your fishing kit, plus a 4x4 trail and plenty of mountain biking tracks.
